New release and launch: ‘kisshug’ by Eddie Paterson

New from Eddie Paterson and Whitmore Press comes ‘kisshug’, the sequel to Eddie’s widely praised 2017 collection ‘redactor’.

Farmed, extracted and then uniquely coded (with many a redaction), ‘kisshug’ continues Paterson’s poetic project. Operating in an opaque market in which assets are distorted, relationships confused and memorandums rule, these works search for the beating heart in the post-truth emoji.

Huge thanks to Deirdre Carmichael for another stunning cover design.

Join us for the Beechworth launch with readings by Eddie, and music from Lara Stevens.

Canberra launch of An Inventory of Longing

This is somewhat late notice (apologies!), but the Canberra launch of Kevin Brophy’s new collection, An Inventory of Longing, will take place tomorrow (Thursday 24 July) at Manning Clark House, 11 Tasmanian Circle, Forrest, ACT at 7pm.

Jen Webb, Distinguished Professor of Creative Practice at the University of Canberra, will launch Kevin’s book, copies of which will be available for purchase on the night. All welcome!

‘An Inventory of Longing’ launched

Kevin Brophy’s An Inventory of Longing was launched to a large audience at Brunswick Books, Melbourne on 27 February. Amanda Frances Johnson launched the collection by way of a absorbing conversation with Kevin, who read six poems.

Warm thanks to Kevin, Amanda, and to Ellen Cregan and staff for hosting the launch at Brunswick Books, and to the many who came. Such was the attendance that by the end of the evening all of Kevin’s books had sold. But, if you haven’t yet got a copy, Brunswick Books has restocked, or you can order online from the Whitmore Press titles page, where you’ll also find many previous titles from Whitmore Press heavily discounted.

A new title from Whitmore Press – Kevin Brophy’s ‘An Inventory of Longing’

After a long hibernation, Whitmore Press is back with a brilliant, and under the circumstances appropriately titled, collection by Kevin Brophy, An Inventory of Longing.

Kevin is one of Australia’s most loved and admired poets, and his keenly anticipated new collection, with compelling visions of love, bewilderment and grief, and roaming from the streets of Paris to Melbourne and on into the quixotic mind of a cat, will drive these poems far into the heart and psyche of the reader.

The Melbourne launch details:

Brunswick Bound
361 Sydney Road, Brunswick
Thursday 27 February, 6 pm

Kevin will be in discussion with prize-winning poet A. Frances Johnson.

All welcome. Drinks are on us. We’d love to see you there.
